Sony Xperia PRO-I smartphone with 1-inch sensor, 12bit RAW images, 4K 120 fps

Sony has released its most technologically advanced and advanced smartphone. The device was named Sony Xperia PRO-I and has an inch sensor of the main camera module. So far, no smartphone from the largest manufacturers has such specifications.

In theory, such a large sensor should allow the Sony Xperia PRO-I to shoot at the level of compact cameras. The smartphone allows you to take pictures with a color depth of 12 bit in RAW. Continuous shooting is claimed at 20fps with autofocus retaining.

The inch sensor of the Sony Xperia PRO-I smartphone has a resolution of 12 megapixels. Moreover, it has very large pixels – 2.4 microns. This module also has a Zeiss Tessar T lens with a focal length of 24mm and a variable aperture of F / 2.0 and F / 4.0. This is the Exmor RS phase-detection AF sensor found in the Sony RX100 VII camera.

The second module of the main camera of the smartphone is a portrait module with a focal length of 50mm and an aperture of F / 2.4 and a 12-megapixel sensor.

The third module is an ultra-wide-angle lens with a focal length of 16mm and an aperture of f / 2.2. Sensor – 12 megapixels.

The Sony Xperia Pro-I has a Real-time Eye autofocus system. Its algorithms allow the smartphone to recognize people and animals in the frame. Autofocus has 315 points that cover 90 percent of the sensor area. The new smartphone from Sony has a two-position shutter button on the side.

There is also a separate button for video recording. It will be possible to purchase an additional monitor for the smartphone – Vlog Monitor, which was presented by Sony. It looks like this:

4K 120 fps video recording is available.

The screen of the new smartphone from Sony is a 6.5-inch OLED panel with a 4K resolution (3840×1644). The refresh rate of the display is 120 Hz and the touch panel is 240 Hz. The special Gorilla Glass Victus protects the smartphone screen. Moreover, it is reported that the back of the Sony Xperia PRO-I is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

The processor is the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal flash memory are available. Supports memory cards up to 1 TB.

The OS was Android 11. The declared capacity of the battery is 4500 mAh, fast charging with a power of 30 W is supported.

The body of the new smartphone – Sony Xperia PRO-I is protected from dust and water (IP68 standard). There is a standard headphone jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The dimensions of the Xperia Pro-I are 166x72x8.9 mm, the total weight of the smartphone is 211 grams.

The new device – a smartphone with an inch matrix of the main camera – turned out to be not cheap. The price will be $ 1,800 (124 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). Pre-orders start on October 28. Retail sales will begin in the month of December.

The new smartphone is aimed at video bloggers as seen in the Sony commercial. Sony’s latest announcement is the Sony A7IV full-frame mirrorless camera. It received a 33-megapixel sensor, rotary display, advanced video shooting capabilities (including 4K resampling from 7K).
