How to make comfortable kids study desk

How to organize a place for studying at home so that the child can study with pleasure and without harm to health?

1. Arrange personal space

Try to allocate a place where the child will be the owner and will be able to arrange everything to his liking. A great idea is to hang a whiteboard or corkboard on the wall. Stickers, posters, and drawings will get their rightful place, and you won’t have to worry about wallpapers and subdue the violent fantasy of a young creator.

You can also place the lesson schedule, notes, and reminders here. Such a cozy corner will inspire the child to his own little feats.

2. Organize convenient storage

Younger schoolchildren are still playing with toys, assembling LEGOs and puzzles, crafting from paper, and sculpting from plasticine. All this needs to be stored somewhere. Moreover, it is important that it is convenient for the child to independently get objects and then put them away.

Arrange storage at a height that the kid can easily reach. Arrange all toys, construction sets, and materials for creativity in boxes and sign what is where. Better yet, let your child arrange things as he or she likes. This will teach him to be neat and make it easier to maintain order in the room.

3. Allocate space for technology

Modern children actively use technology: computers, tablets, smartphones, and electronic clocks. For them, you need to provide a place and the required number of outlets.

Sometimes children, imitating Youtube bloggers, make videos themselves and post them online. This is a useful skill that may come in handy in the future: grow into a serious hobby or profession.

If your child is a young blogger, prepare a place for a selfie lamp and a tabletop tripod.

4. Choose the right furniture

To prevent a violation of posture in a child, it is necessary to choose the right furniture. In a sitting position, the edge of the table should be at chest level, arms bent at the elbows, lie on the table, and legs rest on the floor.

The easiest and most profitable way to meet these requirements is to buy furniture that will “grow” with the child: a table and chair adjustable in height. They will last all school years.

5. Customize your lighting

It is best to place the desktop near the window: the child can do homework in natural, healthy lighting. For classes in the evenings, a table lamp, wall lamp, or floor lamp with directional light is useful.

6. Remember friends

Surely, friends will come to your child to do homework together or play after class. Here you need to take care of the comfortable accommodation of all children.

Choose a larger table, with a margin, and provide an additional chair that matches the design so as not to carry a stool from the kitchen.

7. Don’t forget about girls

Young girls love to try on jewelry and do hair and make-up. If there is no room for a boudoir in the room, it can be arranged on the desktop: install a folding mirror, and organize the storage of cosmetics, hairpins, elastic bands, and other necessary things.

8. Stick to the regime

Even in a comfortable workplace, the child will be tired from classes. Long-term hard work will harm a fragile body, so every 30–40 minutes you need to take a break: arrange exercises, go for a short walk, and change activities.

A rested child will be happy to return to the lessons and be able to work productively.
