Trends 2023/2024: “Hollywood cleaning”

Everyone approaches cleaning differently, but the most important thing is to find the system that works best for you and your home. Some people implement daily habits, create weekly schedules, or have monthly master review sessions to get their house in order. Others forgo deep cleansing and tackle the most pressing and obvious issues. As it turns out, according to social media, there is a name for this type of tidying up: “Hollywood tidying up.”

At the end of last year, a small text was published on social networks that reads: “When your boyfriend grew up in a clean house, and you grew up in a Hollywood clean house, and it became popular. The video has 5.4 million views, over 800 thousand likes, and almost a thousand comments. It resonated with people: “I’ve never heard the term ‘Hollywood Clean’ before, but I immediately knew what you meant because that’s what I do.” Others write: “I am definitely a Hollywood cleaning person, just like my mother. I don’t have the time or energy to do a thorough cleaning.”

The author of the popular post later posted more videos explaining what she meant by the term, which was later revealed to have been coined by her parents. According to her, “Hollywood cleaning” is a style that is essentially a superficial cleaning. She says that as children, “they made sure the house looked really nice, but it didn’t need to be thoroughly cleaned.” For example, it can be getting rid of visible clutter. (It is further explained that other mandatory tasks are performed regularly, such as weekly bed linen washing.)

Many people reacted differently to this concept of “Hollywood purity” and “deep purity”. Some even suggested the idea of crossing the two approaches: Mon-Fri: Hollywood. Sat-Sun: deep cleaning. If you keep going like this, you’ll never have a really thorough cleaning because the house will always look good.”

The most important thing about our X that it is for
