OUTONOMY is a special project by Mathieu Lehanneur at Maison&Objet

Mathieu Lehanneur, designer of the year according to Maison&Objet, presented the OUTONOMY project at the exhibition. According to him, this space is an attempt to answer a person’s question about what he really needs. The project is based on the idea of independence and freedom away from noise and crowding; it is an isolated ecosystem of life for reinventing oneself. The installation resembles a self-contained hut or yurt for a reason: this is how the designer sought to reflect the ideas of survival that are manifesting themselves in different ways around the world right now. With OUTONOMY, Mathieu Lehanneur imagines what it might look like for a modern man to return to cave life, but with all the necessary amenities. Some of the designer’s projects are presented in and around the space: for example, the Guernica lamp, the Square Sun chair, and others.
