The LU Buro team combined classic, vintage, and modern design elements to create an interior that will remind the owners of life in Paris. Designers Lyubov Tsepkova and Mila Ustyuzhyna talk about the project.

This apartment belongs to a young couple with a small child. The hostess lived in Paris for a long time, so this city became the main source of inspiration. The clients wanted to keep the interior simple but with interesting details. It was also important for them to save as much free space and light as possible.
We divided the whole apartment into two parts: public and private. The public one is a single space of the kitchen-dining room and living room. In the private area, there is a master bedroom with a dressing room and a children’s room. The complex geometry of the corridor was caused by the need to increase the area of the bathroom and organize a convenient entrance to the children’s room. In the resulting niches, we made a utility compartment and a mini-laundry room.
The color scheme of the interior was inspired by the old front doors of Paris. We made the hallway and the common area more elegant. The lamp on the console, the see-through view of the living room with moldings, stucco, herringbone parquet, and open windows to the floor are immediately reminiscent of the French capital.
In the living room, we have provided several lighting scenarios that allow you to create a relaxed family or more “party” atmosphere. Customers like to gather large groups of friends and have parties. In addition, the owner of the apartment is a musician, so the piano took pride in place by the sofa. Another must-have was the marble fireplace. Unfortunately, it was not possible to make it operational, but even so, it adds comfort. We decided to decorate the portal with art, choosing a limited edition poster of the French street art artist Mr. Chat.
We made the bedroom monochrome. Walls, headboard, bed linen, desktop, chair ornament, and even curtains are made in the same color scheme. Vintage rattan-framed mirrors, louvered closet doors, and a simple but textured ceramic lamp helped bring a sense of southern warmth.
We wanted to make the interior of the bathroom as light as possible and focus all attention on the free-standing bathtub. To do this, we designed an elegant console for the sink and hid the storage space in a mirrored cabinet. The highlight of the bathroom is also the ceiling lamp PH 5 by Louis Poulsen.
Customers adhere to the Montessori methodology, which we took into account when designing a nursery. Bookshelves, drawers, and a bar in the closet are low enough so that the baby can take and put things on his own. Their height can be changed as the child grows.
