Private house in Peski

The completed project of a private residential building is located on a site located in close proximity to the coast of the Gulf of Finland with a strongly pronounced relief and a fascinating view of the water area.

The main task of the project was to organically fit into the existing natural landscape two different volumes in terms of area and height, the main and the guest house. At the same time, as much as possible to preserve the trees existing on the site and “beat” the stone breed, inscribing it into the architecture of the buildings. Due to the strong “stepped” relief, with an average height difference of 3 – 3.5 meters, it was proposed to “embed” one-story volumes of buildings into the existing slope, one above the other. Accordingly, the main volume of the building, with an area of 250 m² and L-shaped in plan, located as high as possible along the slope, next to the entry zone to the site, where one of the walls played the role of a retaining wall of the upper terrace of the forest.

The main volume of the building is perpendicular to the slope and “hanging” it “cantilever” to the bay. In the main volume, they placed an entrance hall with a bathroom and a living room with a kitchen, opening a view of the bay with the help of sliding panoramic glazing. The guest room, children’s room, bedroom, and bathroom were placed in a smaller volume, pushing it as much as possible deep into the site, thereby ensuring privacy and also orienting them towards the bay. The volume of the guest house with a sauna was cut a “step” down the slope, next to a stone boulder, inscribing it into the overall architecture.

A terrace was organized on the roof of the guest house, where sun loungers will subsequently appear. In the finishing materials of the facades of both buildings, are larch planks and black ceramic granite tiles with a stone texture were used.
