*Chairman of the jury, famous French designer – Matali Crassé.*

Eight years ago, the Hermès Corporate Charitable Foundation launched an award to support promising young designers in their early days. This year’s theme for the Prix Émile Hermès is Game, which the jury chaired by the renowned French designer Matali Crassé interprets as the most important social and educational part of human life. Participants, including representatives of a generation that grew up and formed in the digital age, were invited to reflect on the role of play in the formation of a modern person, communication, and creativity. In total, 762 projects from 62 countries were submitted to the competition, from which the jury selected 12 applicants for victory.

Project of Valentin Adam and Maxime Loiseau Oracle. Colors are distributed among the participants. An item corresponding to a given color is placed in a container, and an application in a smartphone analyzes how correctly it is selected.

*Project Benjamin Charles and Simon Jojo Dorémix. Musical railway, controlled by a tablet. The program on the tablet also allows you to create various melodies to which the train moves.*

Project by Leia Pereira and Claire Pondard Demi-Jour. A set of cards for creating shadow images. The cards are attached to the back of the smartphone and, when the flash is on, give various projections onto the surface.

*Victoria Gravelle’s project Talu is an “unlimited” constructor consisting of 28 modules, made of heavy-duty foam and felt. The height of the blocks varies from 20 to 60 cm.*

Matthew Lang’s play Luc. A sheet of paper is placed between two sheets of cardboard. In the top cardboard there is a hole in which the players draw in turn without seeing the previous drawing. When the sheet rotates, the pictures replace each other, resembling a cartoon.

*The first prize went to French product designer Jean-Simon Roch. His project Vibrato is a game based on the properties of an electric magnet that makes objects “dance” on a surface.*

*Project of Maciej Khmara and Anya Rosinke Your Shelter. A wooden trolley, complete with many accessories – ropes, fabric, lamps, Velcro, etc. The child can combine them in different variations.*

*Guillaume Darjeanu Snail Racing project. “Race on the snails” – measuring devices are attached to the wooden snails. The distance for snails is determined by the roll of the dice*.

Project by Alexandre Eshasserio Interactive Wallpaper – “Interactive wallpaper”. The choice of the “design” of the wallpaper is carried out on a special site; also, with the help of the movement of the hands, you can add sound elements to the images.

Project by Gemma Guinovar Morell and Franz Bourgeois Trikado. Another version of the famous Hungarian puzzle Mikado. The goal of the game is to place all the sticks in a vertical wooden “trunk” without letting them fall.
