Trends 2023/2024: minimalism and japandi performed by Spanish furniture makers

Spanish brand Expormim introduced two new items. The Obi sofa, designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, metaphorically embodies the transition from chaos to space, orderly beauty.

The Milanese duo pays homage to Japanese culture. Obi takes its name from the belt of the Japanese kimono, an accessory that has become an iconic element of the collection. As the belt should serve as an accent of the traditional outfit, so the elegant stripe covering the pillows of the back of the sofa serves as the most noticeable expressive detail of the entire appearance. It can be made of waterproof textiles or leather in various variations. Obi is a high-tech collection created for outdoor use, but as comfortable and elegant as any line of interior items.

Another novelty of Expormim is the Talo collection from the Barcelona studio Altherr Desile Park. The garden and terrace series includes items made of high-strength and resistant materials: enameled aluminum, frosted glass, and colored concrete. Inspired by wild rocky landscapes, the Talo line is characterized by pure geometric shapes and a natural palette. The collection features three coffee tables of different sizes in shades of sandstone, sage, and terracotta, as well as several dining tables that are united by an asymmetrical concrete base.
