Trends 2023/2024: wallpaper in the spirit of new brutalism

Or.nami, a designer wallpaper brand founded by Italian Gabriella Fucillo, is kicking off the year with a new collection of expressive patterns, a new brutalism that she says seeks to “resist a society of mass production and draw crude poetry from intricate and powerful forces.”

The Still Life wallpaper collection pays homage to the architectural trend of the post-war period. Gabriella Fucillo, founder and artistic director of the brand, reimagines a monumental mass of brutalist work in a collection embellished with unexpected accents.

The forms in the Still Life collection, proportions, and colors emphasize a three-dimensional perspective. The geometric and three-dimensional dimension is opposed to the organic and natural component. The collection is available in vinyl or pure silk, a high quality, high-performance material capable of guaranteeing the best results in terms of both color reproduction. The dimensions of 600 cm long and 300 cm high are adapted based on specific needs and requirements. The collection is also available in a contract version including the main decorative themes and printed on a 330g vinyl backing 68cm wide.

Or.nami is the only Italian digital wallpaper company that is the licensee of the Natural Color System®© (NCS), a color ordering system based on how we perceive color and the only one capable of scientifically encoding ten million colors. The result of over 70 years of research, NCS is based on six colors – black, white, yellow, red, blue, and green – that our eyes identify as primary.
