Maison & Objet 2024: technological paradise and new prosperity

Maison & Objet has announced Tech Eden as the theme for its January 2024 show. “Technological Paradise” is a show dedicated to the 30th anniversary of this project. It promises visitors a fascinating exploration of areas where technology and nature exist in harmony.

Continuing with last year’s theme of ‘Enjoy!’, January’s session conveys optimism for the future through shape and color, focusing on futuristic biophilia and a new world of well-being. The Tech Eden theme was developed in collaboration with creative strategy agency Peclers Paris, which sees it as an opportunity to “highlight the profound evolution in the relationship between science and nature and project it into a sustainable and desirable future.”

The technological experimentation and visual language of Mathieu Lehanner declared “Designer of the Year”, perfectly corresponds to the theme of the year. This award recognizes a key figure in the international design industry. During the January fair, the designer will create a special space called Outonomy, reflecting his research and career path.

Also for the fourth time, the Future On Stage project will become a place of inspiration, dynamics, and incentive for business development. The new edition of this pavilion explores the strong alliance between creativity, invention, and sustainability. The jury of the Future On Stage competition, chaired by Mélanie Leroy, Managing Director of SAFI/Maison & Objet, included, among others, Vincent Gregoire, Director of Consumer Trends and Analytics at NellyRodi, Franck Millot, Director of Paris Design Week, and Vincent Romeo, Founder of Blog Esprit Design and director of Agence 14 September.

The jury identified three young companies with a forward-thinking approach to production among the participants: Anga (France), Bluecycle (Greece), and Tosco Studio (Portugal). Their designs represent an optimistic future, combining aesthetics and technology. “The jury was unanimous in selecting these brilliant and innovative projects. Each offers forward-thinking solutions that combine technology, engineering, craftsmanship, and eco-design. Whether seen in terms of slow decor, sourcing raw materials or the second life of a product, they all imply the values of responsibility, not as a marketing tool, but as a matter of course. At the same time, such a holistic approach does not come at the expense of design or scalability,” comments Melanie Leroy.

CyrylZ designed the Dune Holo Chair, combining the natural influences and futurism of the Tech Eden theme. Tosco showcases futuristic designs – designer Joana Estevez founded the company to innovate in materials and colors to create beautiful, unique, and functional products.

REV studio received carte blanche. This company won the Paris Shop & Design 2023 prize and will now show the Multidimensional Experience installation in Pavilion 6. A combination of light and materials, a welcoming and sophisticated living room filled with joy and good humor – this is “Hospitality Lab”, an inspiring innovative show that marks the area between the physical and the virtual. Other M&O events include the Rising Talents Awards, as well as projects in the areas of augmented reality, biophilia, sustainable innovation, and natural beauty and health solutions. In total, you can visit the stands of 2,334 brands and manufacturers.
