Soft minimalism: 140 m² apartment

Designer Julia Starikova has created a laconic and cozy space where customers can forget about daily worries for a while and spend time together.

“The customers of the project are a young married couple with a schoolboy son. The couple live in a busy schedule, and therefore it was important for them that the space of the apartment remained as clean as possible, not overloaded with color and details. From here, soft minimalism was born as the main stylistic direction of the interior, ”says designer Yulia Starikova.

“The apartment was successful in terms of initial parameters: a new building, ceilings 3.6 meters high, large windows, a lot of light and a view of the forest. There were no problems with the layout either: the apartment was bought at the construction stage, and the developer immediately put up interior partitions according to our plan. We complicated the geometry of space with radius elements made of oak veneer. The bathroom, laundry room, and outerwear closet are all contained in a single cube with rounded corners, while in the bedroom, a curved paneled wall hugs the bed.”

“The apartment initially had enough light and air. Our task was not to overload the space and maintain a sense of spaciousness. The interior is built on a combination of calm noble shades and textures that are pleasant to the touch.

Between the kitchen and the living room is a large interior window, finished with oak veneer. It visually connects areas and allows hosts to chat with guests or watch movies without being distracted from preparing dinner. The centerpiece of the kitchen is an artificial stone island that also doubles as a dining table.

The designer additionally separated the bedroom from the entrance and dressing table with wooden sliding doors. The children’s room is also divided into two parts. The play area is decorated in blue tones with bright orange splashes, while the recreation and study area is made in strict black and white.
