Trends 2022/2023: Asko and Norm Architects collaboration

Asko presented new models of household appliances at the June EuroCucina exhibition as part of the Salone del Mobile. Milano 2022. The exhibition stand, which combined Scandinavian minimalism and natural materials, was designed for the brand by the Danish studio Norm Architects.

The idea of ​​the booth was to create a peaceful space for spending time together, as one of the main tasks of Asko and Norm Architects is to improve the quality of life for people. In the resulting spectacular and warm interior, inspired by the nature of Scandinavia, the guests were shown a new technique designed to make life easier and save time. Designed for sustainability and user-friendliness, the instruments have been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award.

The new ASKO DW60 dishwasher is more reliable and greener than its predecessors, as it uses more steel than plastic. The harsh conditions in which the machine was tested are equivalent to 20 years of operation in everyday life. Well-thought-out technologies are responsible for increased hygiene, which allows you to destroy 99.99999% of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. And for user convenience and saving resources – the highest loading height and capacity among the dishwashers on the market. So at one time, it is possible to wash more dishes, which means that the machine has to be turned on less often. You can control your device from a distance using the ConnectLife app.

The ASKO wine climate cabinet creates conditions for storing drinks that are as close as possible to the wine cellar. It holds up to 190 bottles, which are conveniently organized with a thoughtful system of shelves and zoning. The cabinet has three independent temperature zones, humidity control, carbon filters that keep the air clean, and glass doors that protect the contents from ultraviolet radiation. The wine cabinet application is connected to the Vivino database, so the owner can change settings, organize information or search for bottles of wine, wherever he is.

ASKO Celsius°Cooking™ induction hobs and smart cookware make it possible to cook restaurant-quality meals at home. Their main advantage is the ability to control the temperature as accurately as possible during the cooking process. Built-in temperature sensors, a probe, and a video recipe app eliminate the risk of undercooking or overcooking something. A complete solution for the kitchen is the ASKO Elevate™ induction hob with a built-in extractor fan. The hood during operation can rise above the dishes or fall almost on the same level with it, absorbing odors and steam as efficiently as possible. It works without unnecessary noise and does not take up space on the wall – the best solution for an open kitchen.

Another novelty presented at the exhibition is a pearl gray finish using soft gray colored glass with a slight metallic sheen. Ovens, hoods, coffee machines, dish warmers, and vacuum cleaners from Asko’s Elements series are now available in this variant. The timeless color will not lose its relevance over the years, it will be in harmony with wood, granite, marble, or ceramics, and it will fit into the interior of a modern kitchen.

Valentin Bufolin, the best sommelier in Slovenia 2022, and Uroš Fakuc, Michelin chef, DAM restaurant (Slovenia, Nova Gorica) were responsible for the gastronomic mood and wine selection at the Asko booth on the first day of the exhibition. On the second day, the guests were impressed by the tandem from Sweden: Andreas Larsson, winner of the title “Best Sommelier in the World” (ASI 2007), and Jonas Lagerström, Michelin star chef, Etoile restaurant (Stockholm, Sweden).
